Technologies covers skills development:

In technologies, pupils are given opportunities to develop their skills, knowledge, understanding and attributes through creative, practical and work-related activities across a range of areas. They will be able to use these skills in business, computing science, digital literacy, craft, design, engineering, and graphics.

What skills are developed?

How are these skills developed?

During their Broad General Education phase, S1 and S2, pupils work through a range of units covering:

  • Design and construct models/product
  • Exploring uses of wood
  • Represent ideas, concepts and products through a variety of graphic media using manual and digital graphic techniques
  • Application of Engineering to develop/build solutions to problems.

 

In the Senior Phase, S3 to S6, pupils can choose from the following certificate courses:

  • Practical Craft Skills at National 2 or 3 level
  • Practical Woodworking at National 4 or 5 level
  • Graphic Communication at National 4 or 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels
