Welcome back 2021/22 session

Welcome back everyone – what a great summer holiday we had with lots of sunshine. It has been great to see all the pupils and staff again and I am looking forward to working with them as we aim for another successful year of learning. A very warm welcome to new/returning staff: We have a probationary teacher in P3/2 this year, Mr Morgan. Ms Law and Mrs Sandercock have returned from maternity leave and we have a new Depute Head Primary, Miss Murphy. Mrs Carter who spent some time as an Education Officer recently, is spending a few months with us due to restructuring of leadership posts in her substantive school. Mrs Telfer is the new P4/5 teacher and Mrs Derevyankin, Ms MacLaren, Mrs McCulloch and Miss Kilgour are currently working a couple of days a week each as Primary teachers. Mrs Hardman has returned to her substantive post of Principal Teacher Primary - many thanks to her for acting up as Depute. We had another good set of SQA assessment results this year with N5 and Higher pass rates once again above the national and Argyll & Bute averages.  There were, as usual, some excellent individual performances with 8 out of 11 S5 pupils achieving 3 or more H passes at A-C and 4 out of 19 S4 pupils achieving 9 N5 passes at A-C.  There were of course, many more success stories with lots of personal targets being met from N4 level to AH. I am very proud of all of our pupils and their achievements last session and I am looking forward to another rewarding year.
